NI Spray Foam Surveys

Privacy Policy

The policies covering how the site handles the details you send when you book.

NI Spray Foam Surveys is the controller of the personal information that reaches us through nisprayfoam.co.uk. People use this website to book a spray foam survey at a set price, and this notice describes what happens to the details they provide while doing so. It sets out what gets collected, the reasons we hold it, which organisations receive it, how long it stays with us, and the rights you can use over it.

Our knowledge of you begins and ends with the booking form, which is the only route by which details arrive. It asks for your name, a way to reach you such as a telephone number or email address, the location of the property that needs surveying, and whatever you choose to tell us about the roof, the existing insulation or the problem you have noticed. Submissions pass through Basin, the service that runs the form for this website: it takes what you type and delivers it to us. Please keep your notes to what matters for the survey, and leave out details about other people unless they are genuinely needed.

The spray foam survey itself is carried out by a separate specialist firm. So that the work can go ahead, the details you send are passed to that firm, which uses them to arrange the visit and carry out the survey. Once your details are with them, the specialist contacts you directly, and from that point the specialist is responsible for how the information is used and looked after. We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass it to anyone else for advertising or marketing.

Data protection law expects a lawful basis for everything done with personal information. For what you enter into the booking form, that basis is consent: by submitting the form you agree to us holding your details and sharing them with the specialist firm so the survey can be arranged. You can withdraw that agreement whenever you wish, though if you do, the survey cannot go ahead. We also rely on our legitimate interest in running the service properly, which covers keeping a record of bookings made through this website.

Booking details are kept only while they are needed to deal with your request and to keep a record of the arrangement made. How long that takes varies with the nature of the enquiry, and we review what we hold rather than keeping it indefinitely. When the purpose has passed, the details are removed. A copy also sits with the specialist firm once it has been shared, and that firm keeps it under its own retention arrangements, which are its responsibility and not ours.

UK GDPR gives you several rights over the information we hold about you. You can ask for a copy of it, which is the right of access. You can ask us to put right anything inaccurate, which is the right to correction. You can ask for details to be deleted where there is no good reason for keeping them, which is the right to erasure. You can ask us to stop using your details, which is the right to object. You can also ask us to restrict use of them while a concern is being looked into, which is the right to restrict use. To exercise any of these, contact us through the route given below. If you are not satisfied with how a request has been handled, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies are small files that a website asks your browser to store, and they help a site remember what has happened from one page to the next. The pages here, and the booking form in particular, rely on some of them in order to load and submit correctly. You remain in control of what your browser accepts: its settings will show the cookies already stored, let you delete them, and let you refuse new ones. Turning cookies off may mean the booking form no longer works as it should.

If you want to ask about this notice, find out what details we hold, or make a request under UK GDPR, use the enquiry form and explain what you need. Please include enough for us to trace the booking, such as the name and property address used when it was made. Where your question concerns what the specialist firm has done with your details since the survey, that firm is the one to approach first, because that side of the handling is theirs.
